D4PV@Sea (Design for Public Value) aimed at optimizing the economic return and public acceptance of an offshore infrastructure through the creation of a toolbox integrating the optimal techno-economic configuration with stakeholder management, climate and environmental reinforcement, unexplored aspects of blue tourism and innovative financial mechanisms.

This feasibility study wanted to evaluate whether central and/or decentral desalination using renewable energy offers possibilities as an additional water supply for Flanders and remote areas.

This project analyzed the techno-economic feasibility of a multi-use island, applying an innovative “integrated, multi-use solution for multiple problems” approach instead of applying the common “single solution for single problem” approach in a marine and maritime context.
